That opening bass riff of Featherfall drives me nuts because it really reminds me of another song, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is... I'm sure it's some classic synthrock like Depeche Mode or New Order.

Ancient Aliens Doom is the stupidest thing that has ever pulled on my heartstrings, due to the beautiful soundtrack and very creative visual style. Not just my favorite megawads, but one of my favorite videogames full stop.

I've never been a fan of slaughter/kill-puzzle style wads, and probably would have passed this one up if I knew what a mess I'm about to get into...
So you see some stuff, you interact with it and you're flung face first in~ WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? ON THE VERY FIRST MAP? ARE YOU MENTAL?! ~to a berserker pack. You turn around to face your death and suddenly a large group of enemies telepors in... just in front of a rocket flying straight at you. You run back over a pile of fresh corpses and see that another clear passage has opened up - a Megasphere. You grab it and turn around towards the big meanie and come face first with a bigger horde... that meets a similar fate. So you run towards a new passage that has just opened up and the game gives you some break... or so you think. You're dropped straight into a trap, but the room is so small and so cramped with enemies that they end up largely ignoring you, though you may end up fisting some revenants in the fray. Back to the center, and now there's enemies pouring from every direction, so you panic and start running around in circles... And that turns out to be exactly what you need. Most of the threats are gone and you didn't even have to lift a finger! Finally, you can focus on the bigger threat... Or not! That convenient pad in one of the new tunnels warps you straight into its butt, killing it instantly and then flings you back where you belong. Dazed and confused you stumble towards the door that has appeared right in front of you - the exit. So you beat the level in record time and end up feeling like a master of Zui Quan by having bumbled your way through a warzone. This will become your style of combat for a long while. Good times!

Playing this on top of High Noon Drifter gave me that feeling I hadn't experienced since playing TNT: Evilution for the first time when I was in grade school

I really have to get around to playing this one. Seems like an absolutely amazing megawad, and Stewboy has really done an awesome job continuing his MIDI-making legacy with this soundtrack! Something about it is just so ethereal and pleasing...

Ancient Aliens was one of the best megawads I ever played. Especially in combination with complex doom v26.a2 and LCA 1.5.9. Absolutely amazing from the beginning to the end. Stewboy made an exceptional soundtrack for this epic game.
Before I knew about this wad I was a big fan of the epic II wad and I always missed something bigger than that... Now it's there. Thanks to everyone involved in the creation of this masterpiece!!

Imaginarium reminds me of Stickerbush Symphony a.k.a. Bramble Blast from Donkey Kong Country 2.

It has that atmospheric feeling to it.
