What if she landed on the island, and used her planes radio to call for help, only to find that the tide has come in and covered the island, and swept her plane out to sea? She stays on the island with her copilot, and eventually resorts to cannibalism and then dies of starvation and is eaten by crabs.

Is it possible for her plane to crash but ocean current swept it too far away for any of the ships to search?

Maybe the plane engine was an energy core that exploded and turned the plane to ash, where amelia absorbed the power of the core and was take by the kree, and this is where captain marvel was inspired from

I feel like Hoodless somehow killed them both because he freaking THREW THE BONES OUT. He did it. I don’t know how, but he had to have done it somehow.

I think noonan killed her and then he died accidentally or he died due to elements. If the teens recording is true then the let me out could be a comand to noonan to get him to stop him mabey attemping to drown her by locking her inside the plane some way that she couldn't get out.

I like the marooned island theory the most, to be honest it sounds the most likely one, given the radio contacts from the area that were apparently ignored. Also, I don't dislike the Marshall island theory, I just don't think it was like... that level of government conspiracy lmao
