I simpely LOVED Avatar and I cannot understand all the hate.
This story has been told before yes, but a story that is being told ten times with good quality isn't a bad story, and maybe James Cameron wanted to say that this is what's going to happen if we find intelligent life out in space, maybe it's the fact that it is a well and true story that people will like considering they have liked it before. Think of movie remakes, why do we remake movies? It is so that we can show stories again, maybe with updated effects, maybe with better writing or maybe because the acting standard has been upped from what it was previously.

Look at Ben-Hur, movie from 1925 was a silent film, the -59 film was a bigger production because the movie industry grew and we could have sound, now we are remaking it again. Why? Maybe because there aren't many great epics anymore at the caliber of Lawrence of Arabia, with possibly the last one being LOTR trilogy.

Avatar told an old story with new technology so we could enjoy the same story we always did enjoy only with more spectacle, nothing wrong with that, if telling a story over again is so looked down upon, how on earth do we continue to adapt book after book after book instead of just writing new stories for our movies?

Can't wait to see more of Pandora's story.

I don't know why people hated this movie. I like the idea of a alternate universe were another species has the same intelligence as humans, and see what would happen, like putting two different bugs in a bottle. I don't remember much of the story of this movie, but I love the alternate universe. Maybe if this movie was a cartoon or a comic, that would be a better idea.

Excuse me? As a Anusite (and therefor, one whom poses many non-ocular sphincters), I am apalled by your claim that those without eyes did not understand your wordplay. Sights can be observed and conveyed through means much more abstract than recieving the light which their three-dimensional forms reflect - the most extreme of which being your incomprehensible mouth-flapping. Language is much more complex than the way I use my many, many holes to 'watch' your show. I'm not sure what I expected from one who manifests on this plain as a biped. Your kind can be so closed-minded, sometimes.

The basic plot and theme structure of the movie come from Ursula  Le Guin's  The Word for World is Forest.
Where peaceful small green natives are robbed of their resources by a group of militaristic humans.

I just want to tell everyone some stuff. Avatar wasn’t a movie that had “secret meaning” in it. It was all obvious that James Cameron was trying to tell humanity to stop fucking universe and life. It was obvious that he meant there were love and connection between every living or non living thing. The destruction of home tree was something that many people have suffered (including me). The fear of losing the land you and your ancestors spilled blood for is unexplainable. You can’t know or imagine the fear, anger and sadness. And people are STILL suffering the same stuff. We NEVER get any results or warnings by the things we did. We must stop spilling blood, wasting and killing for no use. Please take care of earth and stop being a breathing existence that does something because it’s casual. Thank you very much.
